Recording
artist and lyricist Jason Walker, 28, is a native of Carroll County, Mississippi. Jason began playing music at age 15
and was influenced by the classic and southern rock genres of music. In 2000, Jason began writing his own music.
He was signed to Canadian American Records in the summer of 2004 and soon released his first hit single, "Carli", a song he
wrote in loving memory of his sister. In the summer of 2005, his second hit single, "Only Sixteen", was released.
Starecase
27 was formed in the spring of 2001. This talented group of musicians has had the opportunity to host events such as
The Singer-Songwriters Festival in Nashville, Tennessee. They have delighted crowds from Nashville, Tennessee to Panama
City, Florida. In 2002, their first album was recorded at Cruise Studio in Panama City and was produced by famed recording
producer Rob Repasz.
The extraordinary talent of Starecase 27 continues to grow
with the addition of bassist Chad Washington, 26, a native of Cleveland, Mississippi. He is an Adjunct Professor of
Recording Arts at Delta State University. Chad began playing the piano at age 3 and was playing classical piano by age
7. He had a wide variety of musical influences and says that Billy Joel, Victor Wooten, and Sting are among them.
Drummer Steve Auttonberry, 38, joined Starecase 27 in 2003.
Steve hails from Vicksburg, Mississippi and comes from a musical family. His mother plays cello and Steve often plays
percussion with the St. Joseph Symphonic Orchestra in St. Joseph, Louisiana. This experience gives Steve's talent a
well-rounded professionalism. He started playing music at age 12 and was influenced by King's X drummer Jerry Gaskill,
Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy and Rush drummer Neil Peart.
After the accidental death of lead guitarist Andrew Beck in
February 2006, Starecase 27 recruited Matthew Wood, 20, of Cleveland, Mississippi. His musical influences include Eric
Johnson, Shawn Lane and Pat Matheny. He is currently attending Delta State University with a major in photography.
Starecase 27 possesses all the elements:
poise, confidence, personality, image and talent, to establish a massive following. They are currently in studio production
of their second CD, expected to be released in the summer of 2006. Feeling and rhythm seem to find new meaning in the
context of this band.
